Cultural Resources - GIS Analyst

As a Cultural GIS Analyst for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Indianapolis, IN office, you'll provide technical and analytical support for our cultural resources practice. You will work closely with project managers, scientists, and field personnel to develop GIS data sets, exhibits, and manage data across several different states. You may also be asked to assist several project disciplines beyond cultural resources, such as environmental, ecological, and solid waste. You'll gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from varied sources: GIS Analysts often use data sets from GPS, digital imagery, terrain data, boring and sampling locations, State Historic Preservation Offices, and CAD. You will also perform spatial analysis, compute environmental impacts, design and update GIS databases, assist application development teams for ESRI based workflows and Web applications, and create associated metadata. You may also assist in GPS operation and data collection in the field.

• Bachelor's  degree in Geography/GIS, Archaeology, or related degree
• 1+ years of experience using GIS technology in a professional setting
• 1+ years of experience in cultural resource management or related field
• Full knowledge of data management and map/exhibit creation in Esri ArcGIS Pro
• Full knowledge of geodatabase creation and management of geospatial data
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
• Demonstrated ability to proactively communicate, speak, and write professionally
• Desire to work in a potentially fast paced environment, while maintaining scheduled tasks troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions
• Experience with GPS field data collection and processing
• Experience working in the ArcGIS online platform, including applications like Survey123 and Field Maps
• Exposure to scripting and automation tools (such as Python)
• Experience with access and utilizing SHPO databases
