Overview

As an Environmental//Water Resources Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively in an employee-owned company while interacting with clients, contractors, regulators, and local government officials. You will provide services for projects relating to watershed management, abandoned mine land restoration, landfill stormwater designs, and civil site stormwater designs. These projects will provide you with diverse opportunities relating to stormwater management & compliance, watershed management, natural stream channel design, permitting & design, stream restoration & mitigation, floodplain management, flood mitigation analyses, bridge & culvert designs, geomorphic design, and much more. Your involvement throughout the lifespan of projects will be from conception through construction as you contribute to the analysis, design, development of plans & specifications, permitting applications, bidding, and construction engineering. You will work collaboratively with our diverse team of talented, passionate, multidisciplinary experts as we provide unique solutions to meet our clients’ needs with innovation and a vision for growth.   • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure;
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare raw data into workable form for engineering/scientific project reports, plans, specifications, permits, cost estimates, and other project documents;
  • Assist in the develop detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports, along with permit application support;
  • Assist in the design of land reclamation to remediate Abandoned Mine Lands (AML);
  • Assist in the preparation and conceptual designs of watershed management plans;
  • Participate in field work as necessary/required to accomplish tasks assigned by the project manager, including Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs);
  • Assist in the design of landfill permitting and cell expansion projects; and
  • Provide construction oversight support relating to the reclamation of abandon mine lands, and landfill cell expansions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Civil Water Resources, Environmental Engineering (or related field);
  • 0-4 years of experience in the fields listed above; and
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and seeking a Professional Engineer license;

 

 

 

Preferred Capabilities:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Storm & Sanitary Analysis (SSA) is a plus);
  • Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD, or other water resources software;
  • Core competency in Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to engage in creative and critical thought;
  • Time management, and organizational skills; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
