Overview

As a Water and Wastewater Practice Lead for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) you'll help with expanding the water and wastewater services practice serving municipal, petrochemical, refining, midstream, and manufacturing clients in the Texas Gulf Coast.  This position will be located in the Corpus Christi area and will report to Houston Operations.

 

This position will involve developing a group of engineers and scientists to conduct water and wastewater projects and directing business development efforts to bring in new clients and expand work with existing clients.  The practice leader will manage projects involving municipal and private sector manufacturing water and wastewater systems specifically dealing with water treatment plants, pumping stations, water storage tanks, biological and physical/chemical wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, sewer interceptors and collection systems. You’ll be responsible for directing and mentoring junior staff to educate them on design parameters, plant layout, project integration and regulatory criteria. Interacting with clients, contractors, local government officials, state government officials and regulators, you’ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to completion You will also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and participate in networking and client development.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in applicable scientific or engineering field; advanced degree a plus;
  • 15+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects; water treatment facility development experience, including, but not limited to:
  • Facility evaluations / audits
  • Design basis development
  • Technology evaluations / technology selection
  • Treatability testing / technology demonstrations
  • Project development
  • Project management.
  • Ability to interface with clients, network, and develop business;
  • Ability to attract, hire, and develop staff to build a water/wastewater practice;
  • Experience with budgetary cost estimates and project budgeting;
  • Operations experience with:
  • WWTP performance evaluations, audits, optimization;
  • Data management and ongoing operations data review;
  • Standard operating procedures (SOP) development
  • Operator training and Texas Water Operator’s license(s)
  • Startup assistance
  • Troubleshooting / upset response
  • Authoring reports and permit applications;
