As a Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll collaborate with our senior management and executive teams to grow and develop the Geotechnical Engineering Practice. Through your experience, you will guide the external stakeholders through the project from concept to construction, and ensure the technical excellence of your projects. You’ll be directly responsible for developing and reviewing proposals and project budgets, managing/mentoring a team of engineers and project managers, and performing final quality control/assurance.

You'll be responsible for the coordination, management, and supervision of geotechnical subsurface investigations related to civil engineering design (e.g., building foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, ground improvements, and pavements) and waste/landfill projects. You will coordinate project staff to monitor subsurface drilling, obtain soil and rock samples, prepare boring logs, develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, complete geotechnical analyses, and prepare detailed geotechnical reports.  Projects will primarily be for commercial, retail, institutional, energy, industrial, and solid/municipal waste clients.

In your role, you will also guide and lead your team through multi-faceted civil engineering projects and business development initiatives. As part of the management team, you will assist in the recruiting and professional development of the staff, including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals for staff engineers and field technicians. Concurrently, our senior management teams will work with you to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities related to your project management, leadership, business development initiatives and service offerings, and assist with office/corporate initiatives.
