Overview

As a Project Manager with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.’s Ecological Practice, you’ll work with project teams to navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and mining clients to comply with the federal Clean Water Act (CWA), Endangered Species Act, and related state regulations. You will manage wetland and stream delineations and ecological field monitoring activities; prepare reports and permit applications; and interact with clients and regulatory agencies. Projects may include any of the following areas of emphasis: wetland and stream assessments, delineations, and mitigation; natural stream channel restoration, construction observation and monitoring; wetland restoration; threatened and endangered species surveys (bats, birds, mussels, and plants); stream biological monitoring (fish and macroinvertebrates). Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in a natural sciences field (e.g., Ecology, Biology, Forestry, Environmental Sciences);
  • 5+ years of experience in stream and wetland mitigation, environmental permitting (including NEPA compliance), and reporting under Section 401/404 Federal Clean Water Act Regulations;
  • Local and national contacts and the ability to develop and market to new and existing clients;
  • Demonstrated client development and management experience to assist in expanding the delivery of our services to the mining, public sector, and real estate markets;
  • Technical expertise with Sections 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting;
  • GIS mapping experience and knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS programs;
  • Experience with technical writing, data analysis, and report drafting;
  • Experience with threatened and endangered species surveys and habitat assessments;
  • Knowledge and experience performing Tennessee Stream Quantification Tool (SQT) Assessments and/or other geomorphic assessments;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams of technical professionals;
  • Strong collaboration, team building, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. degree in related fields;
  • Experience in Tennessee or the Southeast;
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer aided drafting software;
  • Tennessee Qualified Hydrologic Professional (QHP or QHP-IT);
  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification;
  • Rosgen Level I training or higher.
