Overview

As a Solid WasteEngineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., (CEC), you will be involved in:

 

  • The design, analyses, permitting and preparation of drawings and technical specifications and construction period services for solid waste management facilities, including coal combustion residual (CCR) facilities, and industrial facilities.
  • General civil/environmental engineering duties
  • Design of all aspects of landfills:
    • Double composite liner systems
    • Leachate conveyance and storage facilities
    • Stormwater conveyance and storage facilities
    • Landfill gas collection/treatment systems
    • On-site roadways, and ancillary buildings and structures
  • Develop permit application documents, contract drawings, specifications and estimates for landfills, transfer stations, landfill gas to energy facilities, and recycling facilities
  • Preparation of engineering design reports, feasibility studies, and solid waste management plans
  • Review of projects for compliance with plans/specifications
  • Strong client and project management skills:
    • Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills required;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in the design, permitting, document preparation and CQA of waste disposal facilities; 
  • Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process;
  • B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering (M.S. a plus);
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) Licensure;
  • Understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools.
