Civil Engineer/Assistant Project Manager - Transportation

As a Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. in our Pittsburgh (Moon Township, PA) corporate office, you’ll be a member of our Transportation group and assist in preparing design plans for our private and public clients. Projects will vary from roadway improvements associated with commercial projects to roadway design projects for public agencies. Your responsibilities will include:

• Highway design, including:
• Horizontal and vertical geometry design;
• Typical section development;
• Stormwater conveyance and management design; and
• Erosion and sedimentation control design
• Construction and right-of-way plan preparation
• Highway occupancy permit preparation
• Ordinance and DOT design criteria review
• Agency coordination throughout the design phase of projects
• Assisting, mentoring, and directing staff as needed to complete designs and prepare drawings
• Utility coordination and relocation planning
• Permit application preparation

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5 or more years of engineering experience
• EIT or PE licensure is preferred
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of PennDOT and PA Turnpike design criteria
• Proficiency in Microstation Open Roads
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required
• Experience with StormSewers, HydroCAD, and other computer modeling software is a plus
