Overview

As an Environmental Field Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, you'll conduct air source compliance emissions testing (stack testing) and Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATAs) at various facilities and locations throughout the United States.  

 

This is a full time position and involves providing client services preparing, calibrating and performing testing as part of a field team to measure and determine emission levels using state and federal test methods.   You will collaborate and work as part of a multi office team of scientists that provide air quality testing services.  You'll perform calibration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on a variety analytical instrumentation in continuous emission monitoring systems.

 

Qualifications

  • Familiarity and ability to use various test equipment such as multi meters, flow meters, and electronic test equipment in order to calibrate and troubleshoot instruments;
  • Experience traveling to client sites and working with emissions monitoring systems and including analyzer platforms from common manufacturers such as: ABB, Siemens, Rosemount, Teledyne, Thermo Fisher Scientific, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge;
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the environmental compliance requirements and various State or Local rules related to Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Quality Control and Quality assurance;
  • Ability to work in outdoor settings, including climbing and working on elevated platforms, lift 50 pounds, consideration for flexible work hours, scheduled and unscheduled overtime including limited week end work and overnight travel;
  • Must have or be able to acquire quickly a good working ability with Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, colleagues, managers and vendors and  follow basic safety requirements and site specific client safety requirements;
  • Experience at power stations, refineries, manufacturing, and mining facilities is a plus;
  • High school diploma with basic understanding of math and science;
  • Associates degree and technical/trade skills are preferred.
