Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is growing, and we have an excellent opportunity to become an employee owner to initiate, build, and lead a Survey Practice in our newly established Martinsburg, WV location. You’ll lead the efforts in identifying opportunities for growing the practice, lead business development and marketing efforts, and implement sales strategies to provide sustainable growth of the practice.  You’ll work with other practices within CEC to provide an integrated project and client service approach to addressing our client’s needs. 

 

Demonstrated skills relating to technical oversight and project management services, including quality assurance and quality control of procedures and work product, monitoring field and office procedures to assure a high level of consistent work product and service. 

 

Ability and experience to recruit mentor and lead the development of a diverse professional staff providing integrated client services.

  • Strategic Visioning/Leadership: Lead the efforts in identifying opportunities for expansion of survey and related client services. Lead business development and marketing effort and implement sales strategies to provide sustainable growth of the practice. Work with other practices within CEC to provide an integrated approach to addressing our Client’s needs. Improve service innovation both internally and externally.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical oversight of the practice to include quality assurance and quality control of procedures and work product. Promote and monitor field and office procedures to assure a high level of consistent work product and service quality. Promote and monitor a comprehensive safety program for the survey practice.
  • Personnel Development/Recruiting: Provide mentoring and training to survey staff to assure professional growth and development. Assist with the identification and recruiting of key personnel.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional surveying experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Professional Land Surveyor registration required;  West Virginia, Virginia, or Maryland License preferred.
  • Knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques and practices of land surveying.
  • Ability to write professionally.
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the survey practice.
  • Ability to assist in growth of survey practice using marketing and networking techniques.
  • Network of existing contacts.
