Overview

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager for CEC, you’ll manage a projects and other staff members , to take part in  quality control, client interfacing, budgeting, and mentoring and supervising junior engineers. In managing junior engineers, you will review the design aspects which will include site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, and utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, local government officials, you’ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.

  • Direct the planning and development of the project scope, procedures, and budget.
  • Prepare proposals; establish the scope of work, man-hour requirements and schedules.
  • Review proposed contracts to determine significant parameters, time schedules and mileposts and define the major task areas.
  • Ensure contractual commitments are met and the work is being performed according to the client's instructions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with members of all divisions and departments responsible for performing services in connection with the project.
  • Manage multi-discipline site/civil projects encompassing all site utilities (i.e. sanitary, potable water, and/or storm water) as well as grading and all other site engineering aspects from planning and procurement through start-up and construction.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the company Health and Safety Plan.
  • Periodically assigned a lead role in segments of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects where engineering work is to be done; directing assigned personnel, meeting cost and time schedules and producing quality results are primary objectives.
  • Complete all stormwater and sanitary sewer calculations
  • Complete full plans including specifications for all site parameters.
  • Perform water, wastewater and stormwater engineering, construction, and design assignments of a complex nature, requiring application of specialized technical expertise performed independent of other personnel; exercise professional judgment in autonomous decisions.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Perform construction phase activities including bid evaluations and review of Contractor's shop drawing submittals.
  • Participate in technical development of personnel assigned to him/her
  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.Perform marketing and client development.
  • Be actively involved in civic and professional activities, societies and organizations.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' expierence in Civi Design 
  • BS in Civil Engineering;
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) required, Ohio registration or the ability to obtain within 4 months;
  • Construction document preparation
  • Ability to develop and mentor staff; 
  • Ability to provide a technical review of Civil Engineering deliverable;
  • Ability to prepare proposals and manage project execution;
  • Ability to interface with clients, network, and develop business
  • Proficient with software programs such as, but not necessarily inclusive of, all of the following: (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Storm modeling programs etc.)
  • Hydraulic modeling experience desired
