Responsible for overall management needed in the development and delivery of engineering plans, specifications, design reports, and other technical deliverables within budget and schedule for a large Federal Design-Build program. Must have capability to plan, integrate, and review work of multidisciplinary team(s) of in-house personnel, consultants, and subcontractors involving civil, geotechnical, structural, electrical, hydrological, field drilling, surveying, CAD design, and other technical activities under fast track schedule. Understanding of the design-build process and standard construction practices required.
Monitors and coordinates progress of all phases of engineering and design work and plans/schedules technical resources needed to meet project milestones. Responsible for ensuring all design engineering work is performed in accordance with Company Design Quality Control Plan and consistent with USACE Technical Instructions and all other applicable procedures and policies. Ability to adhere to scope requirements and identify out of scope elements and effectively develop technical basis for change orders. Leads internal design review meetings and work with peer reviews and independent technical reviewers for the various disciplines.
Must be proactive, people friendly, and team oriented. Must be able to provide technical mentorship and development for junior staff. Familiarity with DOD/USACE engineering standards and practices a must. Previous experience with Customs and Border Protection Tactical Infrastructure Guidance Manual a plus.
Work location in the Phoenix Office with periodic travel to the project sites in Texas as well as travel to other Company locations
